Keetmanshoop

After getting up early on day 2 to cross the border before border guards get grumpy and tired, we headed off to Keetmanshoop. This was just a quick stop on our way to a farm outside Stampriet.

302 km later and after a few long stretches of road, we were at the Quiver tree forest 13 km outside Keetmanshoop.

We’ve been to the forest between Loeriesfontein and Nieuwoudtville, which, to me, is more spectacular and impressive.

Unfortunately, there is an entrance fee as the forest is on a private farm – also a rest camp. Your ticket provides access to the “forest”, as well as Giant’s playground – an expansive area covered in volcanic rock.
